Beginners Winter Season 2023

Beginners winter season starts week commencing 1 May 2023.

Beginners competition games will be played on Tuesday afternoons at Wurdi Baierr Stadium.

The Surf Coast Netball Association BEGINNERS Netball Competition has a development focus, where girls and boys take to the court for a supported, fun beginning to their competitive netball careers.

We concentrate on developing motor skills, ball control and good throwing techniques, rules of the game and most importantly team spirit.

  • The minimum age for this competition is 7 and players must be 7 as of 1 May 2023 (first round of winter season).

  • This is a mixed division and boys are welcome and encouraged to join this competition.

  • Players can turn 10 at any stage during this season, but cannot turn 11 during the winter season (ends 30 September 2023).

  • Games are usually played between 4pm and 6pm on a Tuesday night at Wurdi Baierr stadium. Times TBC depending on the number of Beginner teams in the winter season.

  • There are no finals for beginners. All teams play a full 18 rounds.

  • Beginners will use a size 4 ball and games will be scored.

  • All teams must provide a scorer for every game.

Let's develop the love of the game at a young age... this is where it all starts.
